Dick Tillman Small Boat Regatta

  The Melbourne Yacht Club Spring Race Week Regattas are dedicated to longtime estemed member Mr Richard Tillman. We lost Dick Tillman in October of 2020. Dick was an extrodinary sailor. For those who did not have the pleasure of knowing Dick Tillman let me list below his unprecidented accomplishments, to name a Few!

• US Sailing's Rolex Yachtsman of the year 
• US Olympic team 1976
•  US National Champion in Snipe class
• US National Champion in Finn class
• Bronze Metal in Snipe class Pan American Games
• International Masters Champion

  The MYC Dick Tillman Small Boat Regatta is open to most all one design monohull sailboat classes equal and less than 20 feet. These classes will include and not limited to Sunfish, Laser, 420, Opti, Flying Junior, RS Aero and Hobie Wave. Establishment of a one design class will require paid registration of 5 or more boats. A portsmouth class will be established to accomodate smaller groupings. The entry fee of $35 will include a continental breakfast served at 0800 Saturday morning April 13th. The MYC clubhouse bar will open making adult bererages available. Afternoon snacks will be available.
